2022 off to a good start, holdovers in Housatonic River CT

Took my youngest (just starting to express an interest in fishing) to the Housatonic River mouth with guide Mike Roy yesterday - a terrific young guide who has limitless energy, passion, knowledge, and enthusiasm for his craft, and he was just great with my 10 year old. Really kept my son interested. Perfect temperament to fish with kids.

Very steady catching with small soft plastics for 5 hours, including 3 in the slot that were released.

Can't recommend Mike enough. Going with him again in June in the CT river, hopefully livelining some bunker and throwing topwaters for some bigger fish.

He's also having a 27 Conch built that should be ready for June...can't wait to see that beast

As my 15 year-old graduates away from constant fishing with dad (he's more interested in hanging out with buddies and talking to girls), hopefully my youngest will take the baton.

We are so very lucky to have all this at our doorstep..
