Just talked to a friend, an islander so to speak. They're moving off the Island and back to Narragansett. Which is cool--the guy is like the rest of us, a bass nut.
I've been staying at their house in West Tisbury for a long time now
I tried to talk them out of it. But the cost of living out there for a carpenter/ caretaker/ charter boat mate--has gotten completly out of control.
Loads of islanders are leaving the island--selling their homes for a fortune. But this changes the dynamics of the island--makes it less rustic somehow. I still love the island but in the years that I've been going there things have really changed.
Great place to fish. One of my favorites.
