Re-Wrapping Rods....Whose done it?

Howdy. Just checking in from MO where I have some time on my hands. I haven't seen Mike THomas around lately but the rest of you guys will have to do

How many of you guys have completely stripped a blank, reel seat and all and re-wrapped it? I hastily wrapped a sweet All-Star 1208 for spinning and used it once. Too heavy with my Penn 5500SS and would be way better with a new 975CX or whatever the one with no levelwind is? I didn' t fish spinning once this season so I want to do that one and a Sabre 1209 that was a family or friend loaner.

So here are a few ? to begin. Can I heat the real seat to loosen the epoxy? It's two part epoxy. If not if I manage to get the reel seat off with my attitude adjuster can will acetone dissolve some epoxy on the blank?

Any and lots of info appreciated from experience. I asked this question in season but didn't have the time. Everyone has time in Missouri. Thanks guys.
