I swam mine last weekend

with no weight. Previously swam with weight and both seemed to swim exactly like my Pikies. Nose down and tail a waggin. The unweighted rolled a LOT. Not bothered by this though. The only real difference was the chin weighted versions dug a little harder but still had the tail out of the water and were slightly harder to keep straight on the cast. Mine were red cedar and I think If I went with heavier wood I would get the desired subsurface slither rather than the retarded Pogy wiggly wobble.
