I went down the water before my wife went to work to try it out. It casts great!! I could have got even more distance but.... the braid was cutting up my finger any solutions to that problem? Maybe a band aid or something. I have the whiplash on an Emblem-Z so tangles were not a problem (ABS spool) Also the reel has a feature that lays the line evenly so it doesn't get bunched up and cause more tangles. I have the 5000A and it holds 310yds of 17lb I still have a bit of line left over. Stuff isn't cheap at $29.99 per 300 yards.
