I take it you will have your gear with you on the drive from NY to Boston. You drive right thru RI and if you look at the water you will see where to fish from, just pick a spot anywhere. It's amazing how much moving water is along the shores of New England where stripers can be caught. There are many places in Mass. to fish for bass, get a map and study it first, then read some more about this area and you will learn where the more productive places are. You are right that snook and stripers are similar the way we catch them. If you want a really large bass, try tossing live eels and reel them in sloooooow. Do you use Gibbs Danny plugs in the surf down there for snook?
