Beetle,

The waters have been thick with 24 3/4" (just shy of derby limits) albies and small bones in the 5# range. If you cull thru enough of them you can find a larger one but it can take some doing. That said this is the best albi fishing I have ever seen around here. IMO on light tackle (6-8# test) from the beach these offer the angler one hell of a screaming battle, they are in impressive fish when you first pull them from the water as well. They look awesome in the ocean along side the boat.

I know people who have tried to eat these 10 ways to sunday...they just taste crappy... One fellow told me if you soak it in wine for several days then get a good drunk on and grill it...it ain't half bad.

Yesterday was my last albie day from the boat (I may go another time or two from the shore)...its time to concentrate on big bass and the bigger bluefish.
