OTW had a story about that fishery a couple of years ago by a local from up there. I think it's been a while since they got fish like that but they still get smaller ones. Taking them through the ice is no longer legal. The thing is, there are at least small bass all the way up the coast of Maine and above Boothbay, NO ONE fishes for them. The season is pretty short - they're only around for about 6 or 8 weeks in the summer, but I've caught schoolies at Acadia in August from the beach...the big question is, are they fish that come down from Canada (there are MANY stripers in the rivers that flow inot the St. Lawrence) or are they fish they come up from the south???
