Cool Canal (pier) bikes...

I'm posting this here because I think I remember reading that more than a few of you use bikes when fishing the canal. I live in Brooklyn NY. Nowhere near the canal but there are a few piers and the entire length of fishable shoreline that runs from Caesars bay to the 69th St. pier and I guess since most of you don't know the area, that runs about 3-4 miles. Alot of guys around here use their bikes to get to the fishing, but few are really "tricked out" for the sport.

I wanted to see some pics of some of the "canal specials".

Mine has a zippered bag up front for the radio, a rear mounted rack with 2 rod holders, 2 collapsible baskets mounted to the sides of the rear rack and a second (rear) kickstand to stop the bike from toppling over with all the gear on it.

I learned about the kickstand from reading Ron Arras book, The Ultimate Guide to Surfcasting, and let me tell you it's a great idea.

People are amazed when they see how fully functional the bike is and how much it effortlessly carries. They are always impressed by the design and more than a few have said they never even dreamed about adding a rod holder or two but rather they just bungee the rods to the bikes frame. Well anyway, whatever works. I was just wondering if anyone else (besides Ron) has these "tricked out" fishing machines.....
