Just finished watching a brilliant three-part, three-hour BBC documentary titled, "The Power of Nightmares: The Rise of the Politics of Fear." It originally aired in '04 just before our elections, and was just repeated on the BBC. (Friends in England highly recommended it, but not a single media outlet in the U.S. has had the courage to air it.)
Since the BBC refuses to issue it on DVD, the writer-director has made it available online from a number of outlets, with video quality ranging from excellent to lousy. Here are the best-quality links I was able to find:
Part I: Baby It's Cold Outside
Part II: The Phantom Victory
Part III: The Shadows in the Cave
It's a riveting examination of how we got into this mess, and who put us here. Well worth three hours of your time.
