Had a nice drive this morning but

couldn't launch on the Thames because of ice, which caught me by surprise. We really haven't had much really cold stuff, since I was down there last Friday to pick up my license and confirm it was open. The river was wide open then and a guy was out fishing, just never imagined it would ice over to the point I couldn't launch. What I need is a little old lady sitting by her window overlooking the river, so I can give her a call and find out if the ice is gone.

I jotted down the name of the marina across the road and will give them a call to find out days/hours of operation and to see if they might be someone I can call for the scoop. I'm bummed out after wasting 3 hours, a tank of gas and not even getting a chance to wet a line. After the warm weather today, I'm hoping I can try again on Saturday, but not before calling someone first.

Tight lines.
