Proper Etiquette For $$ Tournaments

I am seriously considering entering the FLW Striper Series event. Seeing this would be my frst tournament as a captain, I've been wondering about a few things. I'm sure there are quite a few people on here who either a) have fished money tournaments before b) are charter captains placing a team in an event or c) entering as a captain with a team.

Seeing how this torunament is set up to have contingency bonuses (certain boat, engine), I'll be supplying my boat and motor and gas. I plan on having 3 individuals join me who already are committed if it's a go.

So, here are the questions;

1. Entry fee is $450 per boat - Do I, as captain, take care of this? Do I consider my boat and engine as particpants also therefore making "6" total and split fee accordingly? Some other consideration?

2. If the striper gods are good to us and we happen to place in a $$ position, how should prize money be distributed? Just so everyone knows, the money prize is given to captain only. Does answer to this depend on answer to #1.

Thanks for any input based on personal experience or any opinions.
