I have to agree with that.

I rarely have a rod break, and several of my most used boat rods are the supposedly break prone IMX Loomis series. None of my surf rods have ever let go either. **knocks on wood...**

As for Z's, I know a friend of mine stripped the gears on several 704's. These were fairly recent models and he's prone to breaking things, so it's not necessarily a valid incident of breakage...

Most of the issues I see with Z's that come into the shop are due to extreme neglect. Quick rebuilds and they're up and running again.
