I fished and fished and fished but didn't catch . . .

. . . anything this weekend and what a great weekend it was. Weather was nice, no one on the water, replaced a bunch of things on the trailer, rollers and u-bolts, calm seas, everything but the fish. We soaked clams and mackerel and squid, jigged jiggs, the moved inshore and in the tidal rivers and drifted flounder and even pulled mussels off the bridge for chum and to put on the hook, all to no avail. Tossed every tiny schoolie lure in every fishy spot/warm water outflow, nothing. Am I defeated?, no, no way. I tried, I know I was the only boat on the inshore ledges although we did see two on a pier fishing later on Sunday, but it is sort of early even by my standards. Still feels so good to get out every day that it is nice out. It surely won't be long now.
