I hear ya and I'm a lot younger.
got a bike and decided to save some gas and get some exercise...

Rode 8mi each way last week for the first time, took the longer 10mi route this week.. not bad, 2x a week saves a couple of gallons, I drive less (I tend to wander on my way home if I have my truck) and the best part.. the bike path runs right by the bait shop in town...
