Not Quite Stripers.. but epic to say the least

Went out with my friend yesterday out of Falmouth Harbor. Looking for a few bluefish for the smoker. We would find a few birds working the surface but the fish would go down just after like one or two casts. We were going to go into buzzards bay and do some recon out there when we decided to stop in woods hole, to go look at a friends new boat. When all of the sudden we came to a patch of water that looked almost brown, but when I looked down it was a massive school of pogies! They were all around 11-12 inches. and they were getting pounded by the blues. I cast a few times with a 2 oz hopkins spoon with a bucktail and after a few close calls, I'm tight.. Took a few minutes to get the big bluefish in. It went 28 inches on the ruler, Another cast, a 26 incher, my buddy caught a few in the 25, and 27 inch range. We could see the pogies just getting shredded by the blues. My Buddy snags a few pogies so that we can look for some bass after and we leave after catching a releasing a few more big blues. The weather started to pick up a little so we decided to head back to the harbor and along the way we hit two more seperate schools of pogies getting rolled by the blues, a few more casts, and we both catch and release 3-4 more each. And When we decided to finally go in, we see the mother load of pogies getting hammered. It was like a scene from a fishing show with the birds freaking out and the water just boiling for acres, we were watching blues of all sizes jumping out of the water and just going crazy. We can't leave this action so we start casting. Another 3-4 blues for each of us released.
We finally had enough and had to head in, but it hurt to leave that much action. Final tally 12 or so a piece for each of us. We released almost all of them we kept 6 total. If only we could have gotten the lures deeper for Mr. Bass. It was still awesome to see stuff like this though.
