Good reel for heavy shore plugging, too, but a major pain each time you dunk it.
For boat plugging the 400B is the way to go.
For shore eels I think they just use Clorox bottles.
I do most of my fishing out of the boat and the TE is perfect for casting eels. They're strung up with 25 lb. big game on a couple of custom Calstars I received in a trade from bro Backbeach. I absolutely love them. They handle any size eel with ease and I can fire plugs with those combos, too.

400b? Is that the regular Calcutta? I think I've got one of those strung up with braid for Tog, Seabass, etc.. I'm not as crazy about it for Stripes. Used it for one season and switched to the TE's and TN 14's. Ever use the TN 14? magnificent piece of machinery.
