plymouth area
LTL FTP I recently started striper fishing from my kayak in the plymouth area and have been killing the schoolies for the past 3 weeks. It seems that every time my paddle hits the water, it spooks a couple of fish. It's like they are absolutely everywhere--mostly in the top couple feet of the water column. I have been trolling a tube and worm with seaworm on the end and they absolutely love it, but don't seem to get any fish after the sun sets! So i purchased a pecil popper, after reading a lot of posts, and retrieve it like you guys suggested (lot's of commotion) and was getting some incredible strikes and a lot of schoolies (18-24"), but again, after the sun sets I get nothing. Do you guys use either of these two tactics after dark or should I be switching to something else? I'm thinking about rigging up a couple of sluggos and giving that a try, but maybe someone has a better suggestion!!?? I've gotten two keepers (30" & 31") but everything else has been low twenties! I would like to be able to fish another hour or two after the sun goes down, the fish are there still, but stumped on what to try next. Anyone else been fishing this area??
