They do roll on the surface and do a little love boogie before bumping uglies - there's a couple of spots where you can see them rolling early in the morning and it's usually this time of year depending on water temps - I've seen it firsthand and a friend of mine is the retired principle marine biologist for RI - and he's confirmed it too in his research

I don't want to disclose a spot, but PM me. Really/ Hmm, the spot has a lot of sands, seashells scattered, crustacean molten or discarded shells, and a few fish skeletons.
Speaking of bumping uglies, I saw a couple of raccoons having the most, passionate, aggressive, roughest, and intense mating session. 0_o??? It was in Tiverton.
