Fresh line on reels

well for the better part of a year I have been looking foward to fishing the cape. last year I had an incredible time fishing northern MA, plenty of fish nothing huge but lots of fun. I am currently living in Utah trying to live my fishing dreams by going to Lake Powell and laying into a couple of schooly style stripers it just does not meet my needs! From all reports it has been quite slow mabey I have read into it wrong
I planned my trip around the canal derby which puts me in town the middle of next week and leaving the middle of the following.
Unfortunately my business wont allow me to stay till the end of the week.
I hate the thought of missing the fish by a week, so I am looking for suggestions. Should I be looking south? possibly Rhode Island? If so any suggestions where? I am not looking for secret information. Just get me close

look if you ever come west you will know who to e-mail for good information on trout fishing. Looking forward to your posts
