Talking Bloofish Bonanza...

I fished one of my favorite stretches of Long Island's (NY) south shore from 11 p.m. Friday night thru 6 p.m. Saturday, pausing only an hour or so for sleep.

The bluefish hype that you might be hearing on other fishing boards is TRUE.

The razor-lipped torpedoes are HUNGRY and AGGRESSIVE and TUG HARD, and they are here in HUGE NUMBERS.

Tally of bluefish for me:

I LOST COUNT AFTER THE FIRST THREE DOZEN.

Tally of striped bass:

Seven, with only two that were 28 inches or longer.

This seems to indicate that the school of larger fish has moved out and is New England-bound.

The bluefish invasion is sure to please - I for one am grateful to these ferocious critters for the fun they provide!

Get those poppers, tins and bucktails warmed up!
