Did anyone get the number of that Freighter?

I was fishing the east end last night while a cargo freighter was going thru. I had a fish on, and as I fought the fish the draft from the ship drew the water from thigh deep to almost ankle deep in seconds.
THEN the return surge went from ankle deep to almost 8 feet in just as many seconds!
I had just enough time to turn and see the wall of water running along the shore and into my face!
Thank God for neoprene waders, as they kept me bobbing on the surface for the 5 or so seconds it took for the water to pass.
I finished the night a little damp, but drained.
What got me was that I was facing out from shore, expecting the water to return from the same direction it had drawn to.
WRONG! It drew out from shore but ran back in ALONG the shore, and with no breaking waves on the shore it was relatively quiet.
Had I not turned to my left and prepared for impact, I would have probably been knocked over and lost my rod in the tempest.

All in all, though, it was a good night!
