I think the viscosity has a lot to do with that issue and how thick you put it on
so if you apply it heavy then heat up your box to the point the stuff can sag, then you may have uneven spots. I have flipped plugs in the past, and I know others have as well. When I first began using epoxy, I used boat builders epoxy by system three and didn't even flip them, just had them on a nail thru a board, worked fine.
