You think you have tying talent?

So you think America has talent?

Now here’s your chance to prove it. I’ve just received approval to do a feature article on twenty-five saltwater fly patterns (of any style, types of fishing) for the Winter Issue of Fly Tyer Magazine.

What I’m looking for are individuals who feel their tying talents excel in the saltwater area only. Not looking for professional fly tiers. No ringers please. If you have already had work published… forget about it? Looking for a few good men (or women) who would like to have their work recognized/scrutinized in the public eye. We’ll see where your career goes from there.

Basic rules for entry submission (Closing date, April 30, 2011)

Submit e-mails only to castaflycharters@cox.net
Supply your name only on the entry e-mail
Attach one focused/well lighted jpeg file
Only one submission per individual
No other information is required at this time.
All e-mails will be confirmed but no individual responses will be answered

Basic rules for the twenty-five that are chosen from the pool

You will receive an e-mail confirmation of approval
Be sent a general informational guide with standard recipe format for you to complete.
Include a short paragraph/ a few sentences about the fly
Provide the proper credit to the fly pattern if necessary
Submit by mail (1) saltwater fly pattern to photograph by May 15th
No flies will be returned to owner due to cost factor
Provide phone number and contact information at this time

Entries will be judged solely on their design, workmanship, neatness, style of tying, and creativeness.

Good Luck,

Capt. Ray Stachelek
