we all have our reasons for keeping fish.
My family comes from a long line of fishers. They originated on an island..."Gilligan's" island, I think. Anyways...due to poverty, fish was their main meal. My father has 10 brothers and sisters, yes Big family..(why have so many kids when you live in poverty??...I've asked the same question, in those days...kids became workers earlier {farm-work} and you didnt' have to pay your kids, only feed them) They couldn't kill their cows because that was also a source of income <Milk>, so they fished when they could and bartered throughout the community for what they needed. Living the life I lead now, I can't imagine how they survived, nevermind coming to America and giving birth to a
crab. My family still enjoys eating fish and I live for the moments when I knock on their door and barter some fresh fish for a warm hug, a cold beer and a walk down memory lane.
I'd much rather be-friend the guy who takes a fish home everynight, then the guy who thinks he's a conservationist and doesn't even know how to release a fish properly.
