2 oz. stingsilvers will get you lots of spanish mackeral in the surf. No stripers. Maybe a few red drum...definitely some whiting (southern kingfish). Pamlico sound (try the daysurfer hole just north of Buxton) and you shoudl find quite a few speckled trout but be careful...the season is still closed for now. Lots of good tackle shops for info and the daily fishing report is on the radio. You can also find reports at Red Drum Tackle, Frank and Frans, or any number of tackle shop web sites... they freely publicize fishing info becasue teh netters get everything and you can't access the beach due to the piping plovers...LOL

Need any more info send a pm and I'll be happy to fill you in. Am usually down there lots. September is better for the big drum but you might be suprised...
