you might want to add a crome head to your mix, or a head start set up. They seem to stay in the water better and swim nicer, not to mention they don't wash out as fast.

The head start (by wannabe?) thing I tried in the canyons once and they are really easy and fast to rig and the bait swims perfect...like a sabile and stays in the water It was pounded. They are kind of hard to find so if you see them grab a few.
