Actually I think it is a copy of Joe's although I have not handled either.

Pichney's is a thinner surface plug with a longer concave tail and more forward belly section that uses a much smaller lip with a lower slot. Joe's (and LH's) have a skinny musso shape and use a high slot lefty lip that takes them subsurface where the length of the plug slows their action, something large fish like. You can get the same result by taking the skinny donny I've posted about and swapping lips for a high slot (there is a picture the 2nd page of this 2008 thread) http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...mbskull-2.html

Pichney did make an eelie with a slope head, Paul had one, but I've never seen one anywhere else and I don't think it used a high slot lip to get depth but don't remember clearly.
