Simple Brine for preserving rigged eels/skins

I hear you Zeno. I also prefer the traditional NY/NE style riggie fresh dead, then frozen, then brined as a last resort. I rig eels 5 different ways and brine is much more practical for storing these other rigging methods. They last longer brined but do take a few casts to loosen up. Want to talk rubbery - back in the 1970s an old timer gave me a vile of Formaldehyde and told me to add a little to my brine - turned my entire batch of eels into half circles.
Never used it again but it does make the eel practically indestructible.
