I am only a casual part time flycaster, but I think it's well worth having somebody look at your stroke in flycasting as distance and accuracy of fly delivery are often more critical compared to other types of fishing. I didn't have a formal lesson but a very experienced instructor watched my stroke and quickly gave me a few good tips which I incorporated.
I actually found that a knowledgeable casting instructor gives tips very similar to what you would get from a good golf instructor and it doesn't take many strokes for them to see what you got or lack. A good instructor can really help you out and make it more fun too by raising your competency level.
