I have to admit I do not know. SW or SU? All I can say is it's a beautiful rod. I have a mint tricked out Abu 7000 CL Big Game reel on it but that's a story for another time. You can't miss for the price. I'm 67 years old now and my stronger days are behind me. I will never use the rod.
