Less than 1 Haddock per Angler was taken, yet Recreational anglers exceeded their TAC.

This system stinks.

YUP!!! it is over for charter boats that go for ground fish....who is going to pay 1200 -1500 bucks for a bottom fishing trip?....according to NOA the rec's did it to them selves over fishing the quota in 2013....U can blame the draggers if ya like but WEEEEEEE did to ourselfs.

Well explained buckman.

Looks like recreational, charter & commercial striper fishing R left...it may be time to make striper fishing a sports fishery and do away with commercial since a select few want the commercial fishery for themselfs of which most RRRR actually recreational striper fishermen only except for a short period of time...maybe in order to be considered a commercial fisherman for striped bass most of your yearly income should be in the commercial fishery.

As far as recretional striped bass fishing goes maybe there should be a one fish limit per day per person with no more then 3 or 4 in possession like they do for fresh water fishing... no body needs 2 fish every day.

How many people do you think actually catch and keep two stripers a day?

to be honest, I would give them away to people fishing at the state pier or to family or friends and waitdresses....if I went out with one or two friends that is 4-6 fish at least 3 times a week....this is recreational fishing....at the pier I always looked for a family that may be fishing and people with kids would be first on my list....people at the pier fish their hearts out and catch very little fish thru out the summer ....there is no law that says that they can not be given away.
