I was out today too. Saw one pod at like 7 am....I was soooooo close to my first bone of the season from mainland, but alas it popped off after one long run.

once the tide slacked out I saw nothing and went home.

I will be out again friday, hopefully with a little more success. almost there!

I was out this morning from 7 till 1130. No funny fish spotted, no funny fish hooked. had a couple little dink bass darting out of the rip to nail anything on top, that's about it.

Spent most of the day yesterday looking for them. Launched out of Westport.....went east to Mishaum point and west to Sakonnet point with no sightings of any bonito.
We did get into some good sized bluefish though.

spent some time camping on the water with my wife and pooch in the lower cape the past couple days. Not a sign of any bonito or albies, not even that much bait over there. had some blues early at sunrise each morning off the rocks, then listened to oversized schoolies hammering bait all night long in the bay 10 ft from my tent. Looked like lots of smaller mullet in the bay getting smashed. Not much bait out front to speak of, plenty of lazy birds sitting on the rocks...

Guppy, what kind of a motor are you running and what makes you think it's the vst? I wouldn't know where to the vst filter on my Yamaha

I saw a pod of them crusing in soco yesterday. Bonito or albie i don't know. About 15' from shore blasting all the way out of the water. I took my 3000 casts with nothing but a rudderfish and a couple snappers.

Everything is better on the rocks.

Yeah, that's a little more than I am comfortable doing myself.....

I had never heard of a vst.... which is why I pay a mechanic to keep it in good order.

It is not a big deal but be sure to have a new gasket as well, the old one will have stretched from ethanol and no longer fit once you remove it.

I have over 1200 hours on my Yami 115 4S. I run Yami ring free and Fuel Ox fuel conditioner. I change the 10 Micron fuel filter ever 50 hours. I don't know any thing about the filter you speak of. Should I be worried?

No boat, back in the suds.

Get this boat stuff out of here

On a serious note, bonito and an albie landed today from shore

Got a bunch of species today from the rocks

Bass, blues, sea bass, scup, bonito and albie and the elusive Coney Island white fish plus a seagull and a tern

Bonito would pop up quick, small window to get into em

Pink hogy epoxy jig worked great.
