What am I going to do with this???
To make my question as simple as possible...
If you got your paws on an old 11' lamiglass honey colored surf rod rigged for spinning when would you use it and with what tackle???
Its a beautiful stick, I just dont know if I really need it for the fishing I do wich is mostly off the coast of narragansett.

Do you do most of your fishing from a boat Eben or the shore? If you fish mostly from a boat, that rod will be worthless to you in which case you should simply give it to me!! On the other hand if you fish the beach at all, that rod would be great for getting out over the high surf just about anywhere, especially down the Cape. Great rod for throwing large woood plugs....sorry I get excited when I say wood! Basically it is a rod that is made for throwing anything from plugs to sandeel rigs and chunk bait to even live herring.

That pole is definately no good for you. You would never use it. I see them at yard sales all the time for like $10. I got an idea, hows about I buy it off you for $15, that way you get something out of it and I help you get rid of your clutter.
(sorry to lowblow you with the money offer BigFish)

Common guys, get serious. I have one I built a loong time ago with a big shimano on it, and I've been toying with putting it back in service now that the boat is laid up.

You guys are killin me! I'm not a boat fisherman, and have been only using a 8 ft tica all season.. but seriously, I never see guys around here using a stick that's over 10'. Maybe they just are lazy. It needs a new reel seat, but I think I'll just do the electrical tape trick...
Redlite, if you see them for sale all the time why do you want mine?
I realize I have jem here.

The only thing those glass Lamis are good for is moving 40 pounders out of rips--I swear there's no bottom to those rods

I started using a ten foot honey this summer. It's heavy but I love it. Try to find one of those leather cup type rod holders to hang off your belt.Ithink the surfcaster still has them. especially handy when working poppers.

Hey! I like my leather thingie for workin poppers .It makes it easier to hold line between thumb and finger and shake the tip like an idiot. It's also a great conversation piece in restaurants. Haha.

Mike P,
are you serious?? I might consider doing this, but then agian, maybe not... I have a friend who has a couple of 9 1/2 honeys and I'll take a close look at the 2 blanks side by side. I they look like the 9 1/2 is the same blank just cut shorter I'll do it.
But.... it is always nice to have a pole called "Thinder Stick"!
