I think the bigger issue will be how nuts Trump's devotees were, especially Congressional Republicans.

That works. And given that there's a great chance that 1 or 2 democratic senators vote to acquit (from WV and Alabama I think), it saves dems from having to admit that exoneration was bipartisan.

So you think 1 or 2 senators voting differently is bipartisan?
Do you think it is appropriate to have a trial w/no witnesses?

"So you think 1 or 2 senators voting differently is bipartisan?"
Not really. But I bet if 5% of Republican house members vote to impeach, that would get spun as bipartisan. But there's not a lot of bipartisanship here, no.
"Do you think it is appropriate to have a trial w/no witnesses"
No. But if the Democrats in the House control witnesses there, the majority party of the senate should have similar authority.
He's going to get impeached. He's not going to get convicted. The only question is, will they try again before November or do they take their chances with one of their unelectable freaks currently running?

New Post/ABC poll:
-- 71% of Americans say Trump should allow top aides to testify at Senate trial
-- 55% say House hearings have been fair to Trump (not a "coup")
-- 49% say Trump should be impeached *and removed,* versus 46% who say he shouldn't

The scariest part is either there’s nobody around him saying the letter needs work or he’s literally surrounded by idiots now.

He should be impeached on the letter alone.

I find it amusing that pete and spence are actually referring to others as "nuts"...that's like "wingman" Holder calling Barr "nakedly partisan"...talk about a complete lack of self-awareness and disconnect from reality

With one simple move, Trump could wipe out both impeachment articles. By allowing Mulvaney, Pompeo and Bolton to testify, there would be no obstruction of Congress. And presumably, they could disprove abuse of power
So if he's truly innocent, ask yourself why he's not doing that

there is no obstruction of congress...that is a false charge
Representative Jared Golden (D., Maine) distanced himself from the second article of impeachment, which charges Trump with obstructing Congress, because Democrats are not waiting for court decisions over whether the White House must comply with subpoenas.

because the best way to deal with folks as loathsome and deranged as the democrats is to not cooperate with them...they've demonstrated that they are criminally dishonest and cannot be trusted in ANYTHING...regardless of what the testimony may be the democrats and media will create an alternative narrative...it's just that simple...see you in court stupid ...if it makes you feel better you can continue to believe it is an admission of guilt

The sad fact is you can replace this with GOP instead of democrats and the rights ballwashing of Trump because of the fear of being primaries...

Most of the Trump supporters are registered independent anyhow. They just appreciate the direction our wonderful country is heading and are disgusted by the way the left has abandoned their morals in pursuit of baseless charges.

I know that if Hillary had won and everything else played out exactly the same the right wouldn’t be using the term hoax or witch hunt, want to suggest you wouldn’t be pushing hard for removal, that should be an interesting argument. It’s politics I get it, but let’s not pretend what Trump and his band of bumbling lieutenants tried to pull off was perfectly acceptable and not in violation of the constitution. If it were Hillary I suspect impeachment may have commenced right after a similar mueller report.

There is no relevant comeback for the gibberish you offer. Do you seriously expect a debate on your projection of “But Hilary”?
