Jerry Sylvester book

I have been told by a friend that a book written quite some time ago by Jerry Sylvester is a must read. It's called "Saltwater Fishing is Easy". Anyone know of this book? I've looked on ebay and amazon and haven't found it.

Unhappy

Way, way out of print dude. Start checking antique shops and used book stores. Also, at the fishing shows you usually have a couple rare and antique/second hand sporting book dealers. That's your only shot.

If you really really want to read it, the Peace Dale library in southkingston RI has it on the shelves.... You gotta return it though, cause us south kingstoners have a special relationship with that book.

My friend is still using Jerry's old surf rods

I've seen Sylvester's book for sale. The name of the bookstore is, or I think it is: Kingston Hill Book Store located in Kingston Rhode Island 401-792-8662. The book store is across the street from the University of Rhode Island. I'm pretty sure this is the name; anyway this book store has a huge fishing collection of lots of great titles, many of them now dated. In my opion though it is the older books that have the richest information. The boys in the 50's and 60's knew how to catch bass, and i find it interesting how little has changed--jigs and wood and a chunk on the bottom.
As far as Sylvester's book goes, i think it's a great read. He breaks the bass chapter down month by month, and it is his bass writings which form the heart of the book. I live in Narragansett and still have my fathers copy, which i spent many childhood nights reading and dreaming over.
I forget what they were asking for the price, but I want to say 40-50$
Still the bass chapter, I think, is worth photocopying at the library, if you don't want to spend the dough.

HA!! you busted me Toonoc... Yes I'm a Newporter. Grew up there, and moved over here a few years ago. But, I like it over here a lot better. Watch out... First I fished newport hard, the past few years I've fished gansett hard, and this spring I'm working west...

So I guess I cant really call myself a kingstowner for at least 30 years..
I did know that there was a W in there btw.
