.02.... I like my metallics to be the under wraps, this allows a cleaner look for the end bands if your going with the same color end band(silver under). It would also look good with a 3 or 4 strands of metallic burgandy as a center band. The over wraps I'ld do black with 1/4" burgandy on the end leaving your end band.

In my opion I think rods with thin end bands are much sharper looking then wider end bands. If you choose to go with a different color end band then do your underwraps so they stop just past the guide foot then lay your end bands longer, your over wraps will go over the two colors to make a sharper and smaller looking end band. *One important key to doing it this way is to keep good tention finishing your wraps. You can do end bands in just two strands this way. Its more work but well worth it once you see the finish product.
