Had some subs like above that took drag! Funny when the bait puts up as good a fight as the gamefish!
The ambient light from the dock doesn't seem to be enough. I have a 500 watt halogen work lamp I picked up at Home Depot for $10. I just plug it into the dock outlets. The power at Paynes seems to be on until Halloween. After that you need a Coleman. I've seen guys bring down some really HUGE lamps! Didn't help them as much however.
I use a home made jig a local showed me (gave me) a few years ago. Works like gang-busters!!! The Yozuri's work very well too but soooo much more expensive. The tear drop jigs don't cut it.
I'll take a look at old harbor if Paynes isn't producing. Only once did I fail to get squid at Paynes and then I think the tide was just too low.
