to spool braid at home, you can use a set up like i have. take an old conventional reel (i used an abu 6000 that was collecting dust) and removed the levelwind. put your backing on the reel you plan to spool up. now reel the braid onto the spair conventional reel. put the spair reel with the braid on a rod and secure the rod to a table with a clamp. be careful if you plan on using the rod in the future not to clamp it too tight. connect the backing to the braid, tighten the drag on the spair reel to a medium setting, and reel against the drag of the spair reel. this will lay the line on your reel tighter than any shop can do that i have seen. this gives you a rock hard base for the looster "used" line to sit on. this method has almost totally eliminated the issues that arise from improperly spooled braid. i like this method better than tackle shops and it has worked out great for everyone that i have told about it.

but, you could always just go against the grain like Krissy.
