I've been posting on SOL about the same thing and am still up in the air on what would be the best blank to use for my plastic from the beach/jetty/ditch. I know the ditch is a weight thing and depth issue and know I'm never going to get my stuff down where those big ones live, but that's secondary. I just want to get 3 things; distance, sufficient balls and the most important thing sensitivity.

BM I'd really, I mean really like to meet up with you some day if you still have an intact XRA1083. Ron replied to my email and suggested that blank would be good for my baits, yet others on SOL seem to think it's too light. Arby's getting the blank TimS recommended, but then I look at the 10 tip size as compared to my usual 5.5 and 6 on my boat rods and think; how can that be sensitive enough. I need to get with some of you guys to take some casts with some of these longer sticks and BM I'm targetting you bud. I really want to throw my plastic on one of those XRA1083 or maybe XRA1204 rods. Maybe at the plug swap/plug building party we can meet up before hand to throw some plastic. Better yet join me for a twinky trip with Slip at the Thames and bring one along. If I can feel a 12-24 inch schoolie pick up my bait, then it's sensitive enough .
