Definitely a good time - wish I had been able to get there sooner - even though I'm more available on weekends than I used to be, my business and the B&B are just starting to hit their full stride right now. And trying to get the other new biz off the ground has me doing a whole lot of extra legwork on top of everything else.
I dunno, I remember someone saying that getting into a fishing-related business can be fun just so long as you don't wanna fish yourself...
Anyway, had a good time, sorry I missed most of the barbie but did get to meet a few more of the crew I hadn't met yet and see a lot of familiar faces too - now I can say I fished the Ditch as well.
Can't say I slayed 'em, but I can say I've done it. At least the rocks were real familiar, that small riprap like Cliff Walk, sorta like balancing a Bongo Board on broken bricks. Yup, just like home. Too bad I ended up with all 'salad' and no meat.
The pluggage was scary - Mr. Pogie's, Newell Guys (the chicken scratch swimmer is something else), saw Fixters, etc etc - what a display.
Didn't see the Wee Man (yeah, Ben, Maui can just wear ya out, I'll bet)

, but from what I hear about Link's skills on the grill, FWW's tenure at the coals is in jeopardy. Didn't get to try it, me and Eben had to settle for some BK drive-thru on the way to the Ditch. Didn't matter, I was so hungry I could have eaten the ass off a low-flying duck by that point.
The only downside was driving back to Newport after a 20 hour day and no power nap. Thank God for jelly donuts and Pepsi's - as it was I was so tired I was almost seeing things on the road by the time I got to NB - and still had a ways to go. Man, next time I'll pull over and crash for an hour - I'm waaaay too old to be that stupid anymore
Maybe next time we could do something closer to homebase if anybody's interested in a mid-season warm-up.
Hey, you know how old guys hate to drive that far (with a directional signal on all the way from Wareham to FR
Again, thanks to all - good to see ya
