I change the contents frequently and I mainly am a night fisherman. If I went during the day I have a different bag with totally different stuff (mainly surface plugs and tin and some rubba)

For night trips I keep 2 bags in my vehicle (and a storage bag of plano boxes filled with stuff...A large one (surfcaster pic below) and a small one (aquaskinz, not shown)

But as of this moment in the large one:

1 12" Habs needle 4.3 oz
1 9" Habs needle 3.2 oz
1 7" Habs needle 2.0 oz
1 8.5" Beachmaster needle (3 oz)
( I normally carry 2 oz needles(7") and 1, 9" needle but I wanted to try out some of the newer large needles I have)

1 Bernzy surf howdy
1 Bernzy pike
1 Slamo Fatso
2 megabait minnow (7")
1 bernzy surfster
2 storms rubba bunkers 5"
1 small megabait Mr. Charlie swim bait
1 mag darter
1 small habs needle
1 small #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& needle
1 rubber casatic sardine
3 megabait JB150's (without question my favorite plasic minnow)
3 megabait jigs 2 oz and 3oz and 4oz (fav jig by far)
3 megabait bucktails (different sizes) with 8" white curly tails added
3 bridgeport diamond jigs 2, 3 oz rigged with SS hook w/looong hair the other is a 5 oz bare hook.
1 Charlie Graves tin about 3 oz
1 Saltheart heavy white bucktail
Hook sharpener
spare spool loaded with fresh line
about 12' of nylon line 1/8" think for hauling fish over my sholder back to the truck
Leader wallet with about 1 doz leaders (6 with clips 6 with circle hooks for eels) spare swivels, hooks and clips, finger protector.
spare light

I also keep about 5 or so plano boxes in my truck loaded with plugs should I need something different. I do swap things out almost every night .

In my small bag I have just 5 or 6 plugs and some metal:
1 custome wooden metal lipped swimmer (BM)
1 salmo minnow
1 Habs needle
1 gags herring
1 megabait jb150
1 castmaster 4 oz
1 megabait jig 3oz
1 diamond jig
2 megabait bucktails
donmar pliers.

When I walk the beach for any distance I mainly use the small bag and usually swap plugs based on the spot I am fishing.

I take the big bag when I plan to work a spot for some time or don't plan to return to the vehicle anytime soon. I can carry this pretty easy even though it is packed with stuff. A lot of the time I toss in a GS rubba or a storm bait in there or a special custom plug. This has me covered most of the time.

** I feel I carry way more then I need almost all the time.*** In general a small bag is really all you need for a couple hours of fishing... but there are times it is nice to have a deep selection.
Put in the basic plugs:
2 Wood swimmers
2 plastic minnows
2 Metal jigs
2 Bucktails
2 rubba

and this covers the basics, anything else probably will not get used...yes it is **nice** to have but to carry it any distance can be a pain.
