MR. KAV,

I use to be really into golf (when I lived in VA for a spell). My fishing slowed and I played a lot of golf. Myrtle was a regular visit. At one time I had a 10 handicap but it is more like 18 or 20 now. Have over 100 golf balls from different courses from down there on my wall. Amazing number of *quality* courses in the N. Mytrle beach to Pauly's Island area. This was the first spring I didn't go in a long time. I never fished it either.

I went once in the summer...gets hot as hell...by 11:00 you better be done or you are gonna bake. Early spring (when there is still some snow up here) and late fall (post bass season) are great times to be there.

The beach is weird there. Hard sand you can drive your bike on for miles. Very shallow. Not much structure. They ruined the area IMO by putting high rise hotels on the dunes....But it IS fun to stay there with a bunch of guys for a few days, play golf all day, out in the eve and listen to the ocean at night.

I bet they have some microkittens there too this time of year.
