on the beach
8 ft. st.criox tidemaster xtra fast action....made for pike fishing on the great lakes...graphite....super light...cork handles....fuji up and down...stainless tip...ive pulled 30lbers out from underneath piers with that set up....the kinda rod you can work heavy plugs with and not have your arm fall off...penn 5500 or the 4600slammer

live bait from inlets or rocky structure or beach
8ft heavier glass rod (sam scott rod)...ambassoder spinner comporable in size to a 7500 penn

bridge/pier rod
custom j.r.'s graphite 9 ft bridge rod (open face...looks like a blue water rod) just got it...custom tie...fuji up and down with one of those silic./graph tips....calcutta 700 level wind...i have friends that fish a similar set up with fifty lb. ande on it that get broken off by hog snook and the line never touches a pilling....the fish has alot more leverage then you do in that situation....

i bought my RI map yesterday and started studying it....ill be ready come october...snook getter
