Boat blew up in Buzzards Bay today?

Coast Guard is investigating.

Lobsterman killed in boat explosion
WOODS HOLE – A New Bedford lobsterman was killed today after his boat exploded in the waters south of Buzzards Bay.

A passing recreational boater watched as the 24-foot lobster boat Captain Tony burned and sank just before 1:30 p.m. and quickly pulled one person from the water and sent a radio call for help.

Rescue crews from Coast Guard stations based in Menemsha, Woods Hole and Air Station Cape Cod responded, delivering the recovered person to the Coast Guard station in Woods Hole.

The identity of the fisherman was not known.

His name was Antonio Fonseca a neighbor of mine.
He was 79 and retired merchant marine. Spent most of his time on his boat. He was a recreational fisherman. He had a permit
for lobster traps (10). His sister Tina would like to thank
who ever recovered him.
