SQD..Nice to meet you too and hope to see you again next year.

Beetle, I understand. I am sorry I could not hook up with you guys but stuff happens. Kids back in school with their activities, "surprise" relitives visiting (WTF were they thinking?) and oh yeah....work demands

There is always next year.

There are some surf bass showing now. Got a few last night and my buddy weighed in a decent fish this am.
There was an afternoon blitz of sorts along east beach between the jetties and the light house. (small bass, blues albies ) It was a pain to fish it though..winds were gusting to 40 from the NNE.

weather looks bad for boating the rest of the derby...

I think next year sb.com should have a more formal derby get-together some eveing that includes dinner and fishing...it doesn't have to be a another contest just wetting a line will be enough for me.

BTW, I still have not weighed in a surf bass...my wife says I better get on the stick! (I have caught/released a bunch but not worthy of bringing to the scales) I'm hoping there will be a dramatic finish
