Need a new Thumb

80 fish in just under 3 hours of fishing this am, I'd post the spot, but then I'd have to kill you all. There are still bass around these parts. No keepers, but on light gear and 4" baits, I had a ball. If I could have stuck it out another hour I'd have easily hit a 100, but the thumb was raw and bloody at that point and I'd had my fill anyway. Clammer, turn over you need all the beauty rest you can get, sorry you decided to sleep in due to the weather, it was rainy.......raining bass after bass after bass.

Hey ,I don't use conventional reels (yet) , but I saw something in OTW this month that may be of help. There is an article on tournament distance casting and the guy has a piece of latex tubing attached to the back of the reel for a thumb guard.Check out the picture in the article ..perhaps you could use it.

Pt Jude Joe, I think he means his thumb is raw and bloody from thumbing the bass' lips, not from a conventional reel.

Somewhere between the canal and the RI boarder, I'd say check any major harbors, river estuarys, anything inside holding bait will be holding stripers now. Next Month I'll move towards CT and the Thames, but not quite yet.
