In all . . .fish species there is a maximum distribution range. Most fish will go to where the conditions are to their preference,The largest strongest toughest or dumbest will range farther than there suppose to . To live or feed or spawn in less than perfect conditions. Now canada has a lot more mackeral than we do, well they hang around longer up there anyway,Whos to say that there isn't enormous bass with those mackeral or herring? The people do not target bass like we do and what about the bass living under the ice ? theres gotta be a separate " although probaly few and far between strain" of stripers up in the maritimes. Another thing if the locals get one its really not a big deal the fish goes into the chowder pot and no one knows.
