that one is exceptional - I have a problem holding the mesh in place and removing it without smudging the finish. I have tried the loose mesh method and it works fine as long as you do not ewant the scales to cover the entire plug. Also tried clipping the mesh - that works great as long as you get it off before it causes problems. I used spring clips - same as you would use on large groups of paper.
No end effects like yours. .
