I had a pair of those VS 7" plyers in my hand at the MSBA Expo yesterday. They are a fine piece of work. They are on my wish list... after the budget recovers from the other goodies I just couldn't live without.

They are rigging pliers and are not supposed to have a fine needle nose. I figured they would be heavy being solid stainless and titanium plated but the price is nice. I bought a pair of Accurate's for my best friend at Christmas, they were $190 with molded sheath and lanyard but they were sweet. Very lightweight anodized aircraft grade aluminum.

Just a tip on the Accurates because I have 2 pairs !
Don't put them near wire or a hook or they will bend like butter!!!
They cut power pro awesome though!!!

A $20 Leatherman Micro cuts Power Pro awesome, too So does a pair of $4 Fishkar scissors
What good are 200 clam pliers if they bend on a hook or on wire?
But Mike.... they looks so cool on your belt. I have never cut a hook with them (not really made for that purpose) but I have cut plenty of wire and have never had any issues. Ronnie, maybe your pair were dull from cutting hooks. The jaws are easy to change out.
